One of the very best parts of running a small handmade business is the connections that grow along the way. When creative, passionate people come together to support one another, something truly special happens, and that spirit is exactly what inspired the Dows Market on Main.
This market was created by two local small-business owners who believe deeply in handmade goods, meaningful connections, and supporting the people behind the products. We’re so excited to introduce ourselves and share the heart behind this event.
Meet Hayley of HayleyCo Designs
Hayley is the creative force behind HayleyCo Designs, where she creates magnets, stickers, buttons, and other cheerful handmade pieces full of personality and joy. Her work is playful, colorful, and perfect for adding a little happiness to everyday life...whether that’s on your fridge, water bottle, laptop, or bag.
In Hayley’s words:
“Hi, I’m Hayley. This little craft business of mine began from a love of seasonal living and celebrating all the moments that make life beautiful. I design custom buttons, magnets, stickers, and other handmade pieces to help tell stories, mark milestones, and celebrate life. Faith, family, and creativity are the core of who I am, and I’m excited to share that with you!”

Meet Shannon of Hippie Stitches
"Hi, I’m Shannon, the maker behind Hippie Stitches. My business grew from a love of crochet, boho style, and the slow, intentional nature of handmade work. What started as stitching has grown into something much bigger: community, creativity, and connection. Everything I do through Hippie Stitches is rooted in handmade and thoughtfully curated goods."

How This Collaboration Began

Our creative paths crossed through a local event, the Holly Dolly Christmas Open House at Wright Choice Chiropractic, where Hayley created custom stickers and buttons that were an absolute hit. They brought so much fun, color, and whimsy to the event!
Why The Dows Market on Main Exists
Market on Main was created with a simple but intentional mission:

Dows was a natural choice since both Hayley and Shannon have family connections in Dows. Dows is also home to a modern community center with all the amenities a good market needs: plenty of room, clean large area, restrooms and even a kitchen area where vendors can store their lunch!

All vendors must sell items they personally create, raise, or thoughtfully source.
To maintain the spirit of the market, we are not able to accept vendors offering mass-produced items, dropshipped goods, MLMs, or direct sales brands.
This helps us create a cohesive, authentic experience for both shoppers and vendors - and ensures the market truly reflects the heart of handmade and homegrown.
