In addition to her beautiful artwork, she has also started making soy candles, which quickly led her to create cement vessels. Many of these have a unique marbled effect. These candles are amazing works of art on their own, and since you can't smell the aroma through the screen, you will just have to come see for yourself how amazing her pieces are.
She was inspired to make large, textured crosses one day about a decade ago while painting in her studio. As she was listening to a message about the brutality of the Cross for Christ and it's beauty for us. She quietly prayed, "Lord, I wish I could capture that on a canvas."
The Lord took her on a journey that started that very day, leading to well over a hundred one-of-a-kind crosses that have been created and sent all over the U.S.
Sherry and I (Hayley) go way back. Our families have been friends for years and years, and I even babysat her kiddos back in the day. She also provided daycare for my oldest daughter, Gracey, when she was just a baby (26 years ago). Fun fact....Sherry did my make-up for prom, if memory serves, at least once, and maybe even twice. Let's throw it back to 1997, shall we?
I cannot say enough about what a tender heart Sherry has, and how much of an example she has been to me through living out her faith and loving her Savior. So thankful that God saw fit for our paths to cross many years ago.
