Taco Shack Is Coming Back to Dows

 

If you were at the first Dows Market on Main, you already know that Taco Shack was a BIG hit!

Berta Alberts and her family brought their famous Tex-Mex food to the market, and apparently, you guys were hungry! They had an amazing sales day and at times, the line was a little longer than we would have liked.

But here's the thing...

We aren't complaining! 

We were thrilled to see so many people supporting one of our local food vendors. And we're even more thrilled to tell you that Taco Shack is coming back for our October 10th Y'allternative Market on Main!

25 Years of Taco Shack!

If you're not familiar with Berta and Taco Shack, they've been serving up their Tex-Mex favorites for 25 years!

And they know their way around a busy event.

Taco Shack travels to fairs, festivals, community events, private parties, weddings, graduations and all sorts of other gatherings. So bringing their food truck to Dows Market on Main is right in their wheelhouse.

And after the response they received at our last market, we're pretty sure we're not the only ones who are happy they're coming back! Watch our first Vendor Spotlight HERE!

What Should You Order?

We asked Berta what she recommends for someone who's never tried Taco Shack before.

Her answer?

Chicken quesadillas are the number-one seller, followed by:

• Beef quesadillas
• Beltbuster burritos
• Super nachos
• Taco salads

And if you're looking for something a little lighter, Berta's personal favorite is the taco salad.

You can get it with chicken, beef, or beans, and Taco Shack also offers plenty of vegetarian options.

And Don't Be Afraid of the Spice!

If you're someone who hears "Tex-Mex" and immediately wonders How spicy are we talking?.....don't worry!

Taco Shack has different sauce options, including green and red sauce, and you can simply skip the salsa if spicy isn't your thing.

And because every good taco needs something to wash it down with, Taco Shack will also have bottled drinks and lemonade available.

We've Got a "Y'allternative" Plan for Lunch!

One thing we learned from our last market was just how much people wanted to sit down and enjoy their Taco Shack lunch.

This time, we've got you covered!

For the October market, we're planning to have outdoor seating available, so you can grab your food, find a seat, relax and actually enjoy your meal instead of trying to balance a taco in one hand while shopping with the other. 

Of course, you can still take your food home or enjoy it while you shop, but we're excited to give you a place to sit and savor it.

Come Hungry. Seriously.

With Taco Shack returning, we're giving you one more reason to make lunch part of your Dows Market on Main plans.

The Y'allternative Market on Main is Saturday, October 10th, from 10 AM–2 PM at the Dows Community Building.

We'll have around 30 handmade vendors, including returning favorites and some new faces, plus Taco Shack (and more!) serving up lunch.

And after the turnout at our last market, we'd suggest not waiting until the last minute to get your lunch! 

Come shop. Come hungry. Grab some tacos. Sit outside. Visit with friends.

That's a pretty good Saturday if you ask us.
