Here is a new vendor you will NOT want to miss! The Bread Lady will be at the Y'allternative Fall Market with so many delicious options it will make your head spin.
When asked to give us a little history on how she became 'The Bread Lady,' this is what she had to say:
"I grew up in a bakery but never dreamt I would be baking at this age. In fact, I literally went many years without so much as touching a donut. I had absolutely no interest in learning to bake until I hit my 20s. At that time, I began teaching myself little by little eventually dabbling in yeast breads. Looking back, I was actually kind of terrible at it! They tasted good, but looks? Oh, my!"
(Sidenote, if I may....I think I speak for all of us when I say we are extremely thankful The Bread Lady never gave up and kept at it). Just look at some of the photos of bars we found from her Facebook page:
She continues, "Fast forward to thousands of loaves and bars later, I have mastered my baking skills and have even made some of my own recipes! I travel up to an hour from Geneva to meet all sorts of people selling at Farmers Markets and Vendor Shows, and I take orders as well."

A fun fact about The Bread Lady is that she was formerly known as 'Butter Finger Baked Goods.' However, shoppers consistently referred to her as The Bread Lady, so she adopted the name and went with it.
Her slogan, 'Bake the world a butter place,' takes on a special meaning as her day job includes being a Social Worker for 43 North Iowa in the Crisis Stabilization program. She also donates all of her extras to places with ties to homelessness, those in need, and the hungry. What a special lady who continually pays it forward through her love of helping and baking. We are just thrilled to have her as a vendor! Stop by her indoor booth on October 10th, 2026 from 10am-2pm at the Dows Community Center for the Y'allternative Fall Market.
